Yuthok Ling, currently under construction at Pure Land Farms will be the first temple in the West dedicated to the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition. Yuthok Ling will act as the spiritual counterpart to Sorig Institute, our Tibetan Medicine school on the property. Together they represent the union of dharma and medicine, which can be practiced separately or together in perfect harmony, for the benefit of self and others.
Located on the highest point of the land, it is a sanctuary of peace and healing energy. At Yuthok Ling we will host regular retreats, teachings, and guided group practice sessions.
A life size statue of the 12th century yogi-physician, Yuthok Yönten Gönpo, known as the father of Tibetan Medicine will be the center-piece of the temple, flanked on two sides by the Medicine Buddha and Yangchenma, the female embodiment of wisdom. Behind the temple is our Gönkhang (protector chapel), housed in a traditional Amdo, Tibetan yurt and dedicated to Shanglon, the special medicine protector of the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition.
Yuthok Yönten Gönpo was a great non-sectarian teacher, and students and practitioners of all lineages are most welcome to take part in the practices offered here. Likewise we most welcome other sanghas to use our temple for their group practices and events. Please contact us for more information.
Beginning in 2019, opportunity to engage in solitary retreat will be available for students on secluded parts of the land nearby.
Yuthok Sangha, a resource network for practitioners of the Yuthok Nyingthig all over the world is currently under development!
"May I achieve wisdom in all medicine sciences,
And benefit all sentient beings like the sun and the moon.
May all that is spoken be omniscient.
May all compounded formulas be medicine.
May all that is given be beneficial.
Grant me the common and uncommon siddhis."
— Yuthok Nyingthig Aspiration Prayer

We have come along way and the hard work is done! But many finishing touches, including the commissioning of additional statues and images remain. If you feel inspired to make a contribution towards the completion of this project, please click on this link. We greatly appreciate your generosity:
