Dr. Nida Chenagtsang
Dr. Nida Chenagtsang was born in Amdo, in North Eastern Tibet. Interested in Sowa Rigpa, the traditional healing science of his people, he began his early medical studies at the local Tibetan Medicine hospital. Later he gained scholarship entry to Lhasa Tibetan Medical University, where he completed his medical education in 1996. He completed his practical training at the Tibetan Medicine hospitals in Lhasa and Lhoka.
Alongside his medical education, Dr Nida received complete Vajrayana Buddhist training in the Longchen Nyingthing and Dudjom Tersar traditions and trained in the Yuthok Nyingthig lineage, spiritual counterpart to Sowa Rigpa, with his teachers Khenchen Troru Tsenam and Khenpo Tsultrim Gyaltsen.
Dr. Nida has published many articles and books on Sowa Rigpa (Traditional Tibetan Medicine) and the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition. He has extensively researched ancient Tibetan healing methods, and has gained high acclaim in the East and West for his revival of traditional Tibetan external healing therapies.
Dr. Nida is the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Sorig Khang International (formerly the International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine) and Co-Founder of the International Ngakmang Institute, established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong Ngakpa yogic culture within modern Tibetan society. He students in Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig spiritual tradition in over 40 countries around the world.
Our Local Team
Christiana Polites received her Bachelor of Arts in the Comparative Study of Religion at Harvard University and has been immersed in Eastern spiritual traditions for over twenty years. She is a dedicated practitioner of the Yuthok Nyingthig, the cycle of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism connected specifically with the medical tradition of Tibet. She has studied both Tibetan and Chinese Daoist healing arts and received a Masters in Acupuncture from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She has traveled extensively around the world, seeking out authentic living lineages in both the healing and spiritual sciences.
Christiana is the United States coordinator for Sorig Khang International. Under the guidance of her root teacher, Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, she manages the foundation's two branch centers, Sorig Khang Los Angeles (Pure Land Farms) and Sorig Khang Portland where she teaches introductory workshops on Tibetan Medicine, guides retreats and practices in Tibetan healing yoga and the Yuthok Nyingthig meditation tradition, and hosts regular courses with visiting doctors and teachers.
In collaboration with Dr. Nida, Christiana founded SKY Press, publishing house of books on Tibetan Medicine and Meditation. Together they are are currently developing a line of Tibetan herbal products, Pure Land Herbs, based on traditional Tibetan formulas.

Erik Andersson (Menpa Jampa Trinlay) is a Tibetan Medicine practitioner, SKI teacher, and meditation instructor trained through the Shang Shung Institute of Tibetan Medicine and Sorig Khang International. Erik is one of the few westerners to be qualified as a Menpa (Doctor of Traditional Tibetan Medicine), having completed comprehensive study of the Gyushi (Four Tantras/རྒྱུད་བཞི་) and clinical training in Tibetan herbalism, dietetics, and manual therapies.
A Buddhist practitioner of 13 years, Erik found an early home in the Tibetan tradition under the close guidance of Lama Tsultrim Allione, Tulku Sang-Ngag Rinpoche, and Khenpo Urgyen Wangchuk. After a stint in Tibetan Studies and Eastern Medicine at Naropa University, he completed the Shang Shung Institute's Traditional Tibetan Medicine program between 2012-2017 and trained extensively under notable senior Amchis such as Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo, Dr. Namgyal Tsering, Dr. Nyima Tsering, and other Sowa Rigpa physicians in America and Asia. In 2013, he began studies with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, a yogi-physician from Amdo, Tibet, and has been blessed to receive many precious instructions on Tibetan Medicine, healing yoga, diagnostics, mantra therapies, and the Yuthok Nyingthig (the spiritual lineage of Tibetan Medicine) from this great medicine guru.

bair manzarkhanov, lmt
Bair Manzarkhanov, LMT a native of Buryatia in Eastern Siberia, brings a unique integrated approach to massage with a firm grounding in Russian and Asian medical and therapeutic massage traditions.
Bair graduated from the Ulan-Ude Fundamental Medical College in 1999 with a specialization in the Healing Arts and subsequently received a master’s degree in Psychology. He worked as a licensed massage therapist in Russia, both as a private practitioner and in several renowned massage and rehabilitation centers in Siberia, including the Dikulia Center for Rehabilitation in Irkutsk and the Institute for Eastern Medicine in Ulan-Ude, the latter being the largest and most respected center for Tibetan medical treatment in the region. Bair specialized in treating patients with severe neck and back pain, spinal cord injuries, as well as other physical trauma and internal disease.
Throughout his career, Bair has always strived to learn new techniques, and has earned professional certificates in medical massage, Chinese acupressure, lymphatic massage, connective tissue massage, deep tissue massage, and Tibetan Kunye massage. He is currently deepening his study of Traditional Tibetan Medicine with the renowned Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, and integrates unique Tibetan medical healing modalities into his massage practice.

drukmo gyal dakini
Drukmo Gyal Dakini was born in the Northeastern part of Tibet into Tibetan yogi family where mantra, yoga, and meditation were introduced at a young age. With support from the local Tibetan yogic community, she began practicing mantras with ancient melodies and started singing publicly in 2008. She moved to Europe in 2014, produced her first album ‘Purification Voice of Tibet’ and began touring in European countries, Russia, Malaysia, and China with local musicians. Her second album ‘Tibetan Mantra Healing’ was released in 2016 and highlights the ancient healing system of Sowa Rigpa, Traditional Tibetan medicine as it was taught to her by Dr Nida Chenagtsang, a direct lineage holder and founder of Sorig Khang International.
Drukmo Gyal travels the world, singing, teaching Tibetan Mantra Healing and traditional Kunye Healing massage, and guiding retreats in the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition, the meditation practice of Tibetan physicians. Annually with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, she brings a group of Tibetan Medicine students to her home region of Amdo, Tibet to learn from local traditional doctors and study the wild medicinal plants of the high plateau. Prajwal Ratna Vajracharya
Prajwal Ratna Vajracharya is a priest of one of the Vajrayana Buddhist lineages of Nepal and a ritual master both of the Charya Nritya dance tradition and other ritual forms performed by the Newar Vajracharya lineage. Prajwal began his training in Charya Nritya at eight years old, receiving formal instruction mainly from his father, the Buddhist scholar and ritual master Ratna Kaji Vajracharya. Prajwal Vajracharya is now the premier teacher, practitioner, and performer of the tradition and is a veteran of several world tours with beginning and advanced students around the globe. He founded Dance Mandal: Foundation for Sacred Buddhist Arts of Nepal to preserve and expand this rare art form and its related traditions. With the survival of this sacred ritual dance threatened by modernization, Prajwal, at his father’s wishes, has dedicated his life to bringing this unique Buddhist heritage from the temples of Nepal to the world, while adhering to its original purpose as a profound spiritual practice. Eric Rosenbush, LAc
Eric Rosenbush practices classical Tibetan, Chinese, Ayurvedic medicine, and Jyotish, based out of the GunaNatha clinic in California. As an instructor with the International Academy of Traditional Tibetan Medicine, he teaches Tibetan Medicine and and other subjects internationally.
He has focused his study on the classical texts and languages of Tibet, India, and China, and their living traditions of clinical practice. Eric studied Tibetan Medicine with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang and other Tibetan doctors in the US and Asia, and is the co-founder and educational director of the Sorig Institute of Tibetan Medicine in California.
Eric is a licensed acupuncturist, receiving a master’s degree in Chinese medicine from ACTCM in San Francisco, with further studies and clinical training in classical Chinese herbal medicine and diagnostics. Studies in Indian sciences include advanced Ayurvedic textual and clinical training with Punarvasu Prabodhini in Pune, India, and Jyotisha (Vedic astro-sciences) with Pt. Sanjay Rath in India.
