Half-day Chöd Practice & Study Intensive
Sunday November 3nd : 10:00AM - 1:00PM with Erik Jampa Andersson
Join us for the first in an ongoing series of practice and study intensives of Yuthok Nyingthing. As a group we will dive into sections of the preliminary practice or “ngondro” as well as investigate foundational teachings of Buddhist practice.
This week join Erik Jampa Andersson in a group study and practice intensive on the ancient Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd as found in the Yuthok Nyingthig. Like the rest of the Yuthok Nyingthig, this practice of the Beggar's Feast is essential and pithy, making it a perfect sadhana for modern times.
Based on the teachings of the 11th-century Tibetan yogini Machig Labdrön, the ritual of Chöd ("Severance") has been employed by yogis, healers, and weather-makers across the Himalayas for nearly a millennia and is still widely practiced today.
As a group we will both practice Chöd as found in the Yuthok Nyingthig, investigate the meaning & visualizations, learn how to apply the practice as a daily meditation, and open up into a period Q&A/discussion.
*this is a by donation practice session
