A Public Talk with Artist Tiffani Gyatso
Friday October 18th | 7PM
Join Tiffany Gyatso for a night of discussion on the art and symbolism of Nirvana. Gyatso will discuss the rich symbolism within the traditional buddhist imagery of Thangka. Guiding the audience to discover messages of enlightenment within each image.
Sacred Art was created by man as a bridge between him and the Divine. Each symbol, colour and shape are like words of a book, indicating the path allowing us to somehow remember where we came from - ultimately pure awareness and non dual consciousness.
Tibetan Thangka painting is about this rich and complex alphabet of codes, real keys to unlock the mind from its illusions to attain nirvana.
Tiffani Gyatso, a Brazilian artist, studied the sacred art of Tibetan Buddhism, at the Norbulingka Institute in India. Gyatso has been practicing and teaching the art of Painting Thangka for more than 12 years. She will share her personal history with art and buddhism, and guide us in understanding the pantheon Buddhas of enlightenment in a simple, intimate and intuitive manner.
